Step-by-step ways of learning baseball: Use a pitching machine

By: Rory H. Hawkins

Want to develop the skills of playing baseball in your little son right now? That’s simply great. It is easier to learn faster at a young age when the mind is fresh and body fitness is at its height. Well there are many baseball training institutes around the city but this is not the right time to go for them. Get hold of a good pitching machine and place it in the front yard of your house. You are enough to give the initial lessons to your kid.

Skills of hitting the ball perfect

How will a batter learn to hit the ball? A straight calculation is must. First of all it is the coverage of a particular area which forms the baseball playground. The other two important aspects are the distance between the batter and the bowler and the speed of throw and hit. A pitching machine will do it all. Initially the pitching machine can be placed at a close distance from the batter and speed of the ball can be kept low. This helps a beginner to pick up the pace of the game in a gradual process. Therefore the pitching machine is a readymade way of training baseball to someone.

Making of the pitch

After all it is a machine and requires some feedback to get into action. There is a token which you have to plug in to start the operation of a pitching machine and it can create a pitch within ten to fifteen seconds. Basically a cage is formed within the boundary of which you are supposed to play. And thereafter speed is controlled. The minimum speed maintained by a pitching machine in throwing a ball is 40 meters per second. For a beginner including a child, this is quite fine. You can speed up your hitting with more practice and accordingly raise the speed of the pitching machine.

Types of pitching machine

Arm action machine and circular wheel machine are the two types of pitching machines you can easily set up even in your garden. Can you guess from the names how will both work? As arm action pitching machine is more close to the working mode of a human arm, the circular pitching machine moves according to the theory of momentum. The latter one move on two wheels and thus a momentum is generated with the movement. The ball is finally let out or thrown to the batter once the machine has gained the momentum.

For individual learning of baseball following all rules and codes, there can be nothing better than a pitching machine that can help a starter including your kid to learn the basic skills. It will be easier to get through the admissions of a training school thereafter.
