Obesity is no longer common just to adults. It is also becoming a problem to school-age children. More and more children are falling into the obese category. The answers to this problem vary. Medication Drugs Weight loss medication include drugs that work by stimulating metabolism to aid shed excess fat and by signalling the brain that it’s no longer hungry. There are side effects, however mainly the risk of heart valve disease. Obviously, the very tempting prospect of these drugs is to lose weight while eating the same diet. First hand experience show how effective they can be. In fact, millions of dollars are spent by buyers and manufacturers. Despite advances made in the drug manufacture, still the dangers are high. Vomiting and stomach problems are the common side effects of these drugs but there are still some that can b more harmful than others like heart attacks, strokes, renal failure, hallucinations and tremors. The disadvantages of these drugs are the side effects even when no longer taken. The effects of withdrawing these drugs are depression, fatigue, insomnia, vomiting and irritability. There are factors are to be considered of course, in the type and severity of the problems including age, weight, family history and lifestyle. Effectiveness The effectiveness of these weight loss drugs is not in question. It is further more effective however if they are used alongside structured diet and exercise routines. This kind of diet should be supported by balanced food groups’ intake to ensure a well-balanced diet. Also include proper intake of vitamins, fiber and minerals for a much better result. Taking these drugs and undertaking any form of exercise are not a problem as long as a consultation with a physician has been heeded. It is also important to add exercises regimes like jogging or walking every morning or signing up and working out in a gym. Choose a good exercise routine that combines exercises that use weights to tone muscles and exercises that increase the heart rate to increase the person’s metabolic rate. With all these, weight loss will be productive and healthy because it will not mainly rely on medicated drugs to do the task.
